Temperature by Thermometer
Applicability: The method involves measuring the temperature of these water samples using a good grade of mercury-filled or dial-type centigrade thermometer, or a thermistor. These measurement devices should be regularly checked against a precision thermometer certified by the National Bureau of Standards.
Purpose: EPA-NERL Method 170.1 is a method for determining the temperature of water samples, specifically in drinking water, surface water, saline water, and domestic/industrial waste.
