Anions in Caustic Soda and Caustic Potash (Sodium Hydroxide and Potassium Hydroxide) by Ion Chromatography

Applicability: ASTM E1787 is a standard test method for determining trace anionic impurities—bromide, chlorate, chloride, fluoride, nitrate, phosphate, and sulfate—in 50% sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and potassium hydroxide (caustic potash) using ion chromatography. It covers concentration ranges of 0.1–1000 ppm (µg/g) for these impurities.

Purpose: ASTM E1787 is a standard test method designed to determine the concentration of anionic impurities (specifically bromide, chlorate, chloride, fluoride, nitrate, phosphate, and sulfate) in 50% sodium hydroxide (caustic soda) and 50% potassium hydroxide (caustic potash) solutions using ion chromatography.
