Volatile Matter Content of Activated Carbon Samples
Applicability: ASTM D5832 is a standard test method for determining the volatile matter content of activated carbon samples, which helps evaluate the extent of carbonization and loading of volatile material on the carbon.
Purpose: The primary purpose of this ASTM standard is to quantify the volatile matter content of activated carbon. This method applies to both virgin (new) and used activated carbon samples. The test measures the percentage of gaseous products, excluding moisture, released from the activated carbon under specific conditions.
