Applicability: ASTM D4926 is the standard test method used to estimate the relative amount of γ-alumina and related transition aluminas in catalysts and catalyst carriers containing silica and alumina.

Purpose: The purpose of ASTM D4926 is to estimate the relative amount of gamma alumina (and related transition aluminas) present in calcined catalysts and catalyst carriers containing both silica and alumina.
