Determination of Volatile Matter

Applicability: This procedure applies to coal, coke, soil, and solid or liquid waste samples.

Purpose: The purpose of this procedure is to provide a method of determination of the percentage of gaseous products (volatile matter) in a sample by heating the sample under rigidly controlled conditions.
