Fruits, vegetables and derived products – Determination of cadmium content

Applicability: “ISO 6561 specifies methods for determining the cadmium content of fruits, vegetables, and derived products.

The standard is divided into two parts based on the analytical techniques used:
– ISO 6561-1: Specifies a method using graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
– ISO 6561-2: Specifies a method using flame atomic absorption spectrometry. “

Purpose: ISO 6561 provides specific methods for measuring cadmium levels using atomic absorption spectrometry, specifically including both graphite furnace (Part 1) and flame atomic absorption spectrometry (Part 2) techniques. This helps ensure the safety and quality of food products by establishing standardized procedures for cadmium analysis.
