Liquid-Solid Partitioning as a Function of Liquid-Solid Ratio for Constituents in Solid Materials Using An Up-Flow Percolation Column Procedure
Applicability: EPA Method 1314, a Leaching Environmental Assessment Framework (LEAF) method, is a percolation column test designed to evaluate the liquid-solid partitioning (LSP) of inorganic and non-volatile organic constituents in solid materials as a function of the liquid-to-solid ratio (L/S) under percolation conditions.
Purpose: Method 1314 aims to determine how constituents in a solid material partition between the liquid and solid phases, and how this partitioning changes as more liquid passes through the material (i.e., as the L/S ratio increases).
