Standard Test Method for Silicon in Gasoline and Related Products by Monochromatic Wavelength Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometry
Applicability: ASTM D7757 is a test method that determines the silicon content in gasoline and related products using monochromatic, wavelength-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (MWDXRF) spectrometry. It’s specifically designed for analyzing naphthas, gasoline, gasoline-ethanol blends, reformulated gasoline (RFG), ethanol and ethanol-fuel blends, and toluene. The method is applicable for silicon concentrations ranging from 3 mg/kg to 100 mg/kg.
Purpose: The core purpose of ASTM D7757 is to provide a standardized way to measure silicon levels in gasoline and related fuel products.
