Sampling Metal Powders

Applicability: ASTM B215 provides standardized, representative sampling methods for metal powders, including those with lubricants or additives (particles < 1 mm), ensuring accuracy for subsequent testing. It applies to moving streams (Practice 1A) (preferred), packaged lots (Practice 1B), and laboratory-scale reduction (Practice 2).

Purpose: ASTM B215 provides standardized, reliable methods for collecting representative, small-quantity samples from large, finished lots of metal powder.
