1.1. Summary: The method consists of titrating hydrogen sulfide in a gas sample directly with a standard solution of iodine.
1.2. Matrix or Matrices: Acid gases and gas mixtures.
1.3. Holding Time: None.
1.4. Preservation: None.
1.5. Interferences: Tarry vapors interfere with readings. A calcium chloride tube filled with cotton and placed at the gas inlet will prevent tar from entering the burette. 1.6. Sample collection and shipment: Gas sample collection tube.
Purpose: The purpose of this procedure is to provide a method for measuring hydrogen sulfide in acid gas.
