Determination of Metals by Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy
Applicability: This procedure applies to aqueous and solid samples, as well as digestates and solid extracts. Inductively Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission Spectrometry (ICP-OES) is used to determine trace elements in solution.
Significance: Coal contains several elements whose individual mass fractions are generally less than 0.01 %. These elements are commonly and collectively referred to as trace elements. These elements primarily occur as part of the mineral matter in coal.
